Accessibility
Most people who use this website are over 65, so accessibility isn't a checkbox here — it's the primary design constraint. If something on this site is hard for you to read, see, or use, I want to know about it, and I'll fix it.

What we've built in
- Large text by default. Body text is 20 pixels with generous line spacing, and nothing anywhere on the site is smaller than 18 pixels. Browser zoom works normally.
- Strong color contrast. Text meets or exceeds the WCAG AA contrast minimum, and the palette avoids the low-contrast grey-on-grey that's common on insurance sites.
- Large touch targets. Buttons and links are sized for unsteady hands — the smallest button on this site is 60 pixels tall.
- Works without JavaScript. Every page, every link and every piece of information works with JavaScript turned off. The scripts here only add conveniences.
- No pop-ups, no countdown timers, no auto-playing video, no carousels, and no content that moves on its own. Nothing appears suddenly, and nothing disappears before you can read it.
- Keyboard navigable. Every interactive element can be reached and used with the Tab key, with a clearly visible focus outline. There's a "skip to main content" link as the first thing on every page.
- Screen-reader friendly. Proper heading order on every page, real labels on form fields, descriptive link text instead of "click here," and text alternatives on all meaningful graphics. Off-site links announce that they open in a new tab.
- Respects your motion preference. If your device is set to reduce motion, animations are turned off automatically.
- Prints cleanly. Pages are formatted to print legibly, because a lot of people bring a printed page to an appointment.
Known limitations
Being straight with you about what we can't fully control:
- The appointment calendar is Google's, not ours. The booking page opens on Google's site, and we can't change how Google builds it or how well it works with every screen reader. If it's difficult for you, don't fight with it — call or text (913) 472-2330 and I'll book the appointment for you. That's genuinely no trouble.
- PDFs and third-party sites may not be fully accessible. If I send you a document you can't read, tell me and I'll provide the information in a different format.
- Some embedded videos are hosted by YouTube, whose player we don't control. Captions are added to our own videos, but YouTube's interface is theirs.
Standards we aim at
We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA for this website. We've written it to meet that standard, and we re-test when pages change.
Tell me if something's wrong
This is the most useful part of this page. If a page is hard to read, a button is hard to click, something doesn't work with your screen reader or your browser, or you just can't find what you're looking for — call me. I'd rather hear it than not.

If you need information from this site in another format — larger print, plain text, read aloud over the phone, or mailed to you — just ask. I'll get it to you.
